The studio operates at the intersection of design, engineering, and fabrication, creating custom steel, wood, and aluminum elements rooted in clarity, restraint, and purpose. Based in Portland and Hood River, Oregon de stijl FORMS serves the Portland metro area and the Columbia River Gorge.
SEAN HOGAN — Founder, Fabricator, Design
A lifelong innovator, Sean is drawn to systems, materials, and the quiet elegance found where design and function converge.
Sean’s entry into steel fabrication began with café racer motorcycles. What started as a hands-on exploration of form, mechanics, and performance evolved into award-winning builds and the launch of de stijl moto, a successful e-commerce platform for precision-made motorcycle components and laser-cut designs. Through this work, Sean refined his skills in CAD, welding, and fabrication while developing a disciplined approach to efficiency, consistency, and craftsmanship.
As his practice matured, so did his clarity of purpose. Design and fabrication became not just a skill set, but a language, one rooted in modernism, restraint, and thoughtful engineering. In 2025, this evolution led to the formation of de stijl FORMS, a studio dedicated to custom steel, wood, and aluminum work.
Sean’s approach favors simplicity without sacrifice. Every line has intention. Every solution is considered. His eye for elevated, modern design, paired with a considered understanding of structure and function, results in beautifully built elements that are as practical as they are refined.
ASHLEY HUCKABY — Founder, Strategy, Project Management, Design
Ashley Huckaby brings strategic clarity, operational rigor, and creative vision to de stijl FORMS. Her work is rooted in the balance of art and function, guided by practical knowledge, structured thinking, and a clear approach to growth and expansion.
With extensive experience in project and organizational management, contracting, vendor coordination, and event production, Ashley has led complex initiatives requiring precision, accountability, and collaboration. Her background includes managing six-figure budgets, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and guiding projects from concept through execution.
As a founding partner of de stijl FORMS, Ashley oversees project management, client experience, operations, and strategic growth. Working in close collaboration with Sean, she ensures that each project is not only beautifully designed and fabricated, but clearly scoped, thoughtfully managed, and successfully delivered.
