Custom Steel & Cedar Mirror Facades – Mosier, Oregon
This was a truly fun and collaborative project with interior designer Camron Wilde of Modomis Design Lab in Mosier. Cameron has a passion for restoring and refining retro aesthetics, and his 4,000-square-foot chalet-style home was the perfect canvas.
The home’s last remodel dated back to the 1990s, and the goal was to modernize key elements while respecting the character of the space. Together, we designed and fabricated custom mirror facades to transform the existing vanity areas without a full demolition.
Design & Fabrication Approach
Material: ½" square tube steel
Finish: Black Cerakote-coated tubular steel
Accent: Clear cedar façade elements
Process: Fully designed and modeled in CAD
The existing mirrors featured beveled edges that felt dated. Rather than replacing them entirely, we engineered precision-fit steel frames to conceal the bevels and create crisp, modern lines. Each frame was fabricated from ½" square tube steel, Cerakoted black for durability and a refined matte finish.
We also designed cedar façade elements to conceal the original vanity light fixtures, introducing warmth and natural contrast against the blackened steel. Every component was CAD-modeled to fit seamlessly over the existing mirrors and lighting — allowing for a dramatic visual upgrade without invasive reconstruction.
The Result
The finished installation delivered a clean, architectural look that feels modern yet grounded in the home’s chalet-style roots. It’s a strong example of how thoughtful metal fabrication and collaborative design can elevate an older interior into something timeless and intentional.
