This project was a whirlwind—in the best way. We teamed up with Poley Creative to design and fabricate a series of lightweight, modular set backdrops for an educational film series, all on a very tight timeline.

The brief was intentionally loose, with a few non-negotiables: the backdrops had to be ultra-lightweight, fold flat for easy storage, and look great on camera. We engineered a solution using custom aluminum frames with integrated hinges, paired with polycarbonate screens that could be backlit and photographed cleanly behind the set.

From concept through fabrication, we designed every detail—how the panels stand, hinge, collapse, and securely hold the polycarbonate—while racing the clock. Despite the scramble, the result was a flexible, studio-ready backdrop system that performed beautifully on set and elevated the final production.
