WKND digital XV750

modify everything

The WKND Digital Bike is a fully custom 1983 Yamaha XV750 commissioned by Thomas Patterson, CEO of Weekend Digital in Sacramento, California. The project was developed with near-total creative freedom, guided by a minimal prompt: 1990s JDM influence, interpreted through contemporary fabrication, precision engineering, and material restraint.

Aside from the original engine and backbone of the frame, nearly every component of the motorcycle was redesigned, fabricated, or extensively modified. The build functioned as an open exploration of form, performance, and craft—balancing aggressive visual language with cohesive, purpose-built execution.

All design, fabrication, machining, and assembly were completed by Sean Hogan. Custom work includes a hand-built exhaust system, one-off rear sets, a fully custom-designed and fabricated swingarm, CNC-machined shock mount upgrades, and a stainless steel battery carrier supporting a re-engineered starting and charging system. The entire electrical system was redesigned, fabricated, and relocated.

The front suspension utilizes forks from a 2009 Yamaha R1. The seat subframe was completely redesigned and fabricated from scratch, paired with custom upholstery and a bespoke paint finish. Additional custom elements include a single-carburetor conversion, custom headlight buckets and mounting points, and extensive hand-finishing throughout.

Every surface, fastener, and interface on the bike was intentionally addressed—fabricated, refined, and polished. The result is a cohesive, performance-forward motorcycle that reflects de stijl FORMS commitment to custom fabrication, technical problem-solving, and full-scope design execution.
